I, Chihuahua was an unreleased American animated film that was set to be directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez from a script he co-wrote with Doug Langdale and Candie Kelty Langdale. The film stars Gabriel Iglesias as a chihuahua named Chacho, who becomes a luchador. Iglesias served as a producer, alongside Tim Yoon.
The film was being produced for Netflix. However, in April 2024, the film was cancelled due to creative differences at Netflix Animation.
Premise
editA young chihuahua named Chacho who becomes "Luchacho" when putting on a Lucha Libre mask after discovering his home is in danger. Luchacho enters a fight tournament against other animal fighters around the world to save his home.

editI, Chihuahua was first announced in March 2022 as a film from Netflix Animation with Jorge R. Gutierrez set to direct a script he co-wrote with Doug Langdale and Candie Kelty Langdale. Gabriel Iglesias and Tim Yoon were producing the film for Iglesias to star in.[1]
Cancellation
editIn April 2024, the film was cancelled due to creative differences at Netflix Animation.[2][3]
