Ilona Katkics (November 26, 1925 – August 1, 2022), or Ilona Katkiĉ, was a Hungarian film and television director..[1] She is best known for Mécsek (1992), Fürkész történetei (1983) and A Sipsirica (1980)[2][3][4]
Biography
editIlona Katkics attended her high schol in her hometown, and graduated in 1944[5]. She studied at the All-Russian State University of Cinematography[6] in Moscow from 1948 to 1954[7], and graduated in 1956. From there, she began work in the Hungarian film industry, particularly with children's TV programs[8]. She retired in 1985, and recieved multiple film awards from 1966-2002[9]. She was married in 1955 before divorcing in 1964, and gave birth to a child in 1956.
