Draft:Iluli by Mike Lamb

iluli by Mike Lamb (i/ /l/ /u/ /l/ /i/) is a YouTube channel founded by the VP of Platforms and Engineering at Pfizer, Mike Lamb. The channel is known for its animated educational content, discussing tech, health and wellbeing, smart thinking and earth and space.

The word ‘iluli’ does not contain a capital letter ‘I’, as Lamb wanted a brand name that looked and sounded palindromic. As of September 2024, iluli by Mike Lamb has 600 thousand subscribers and over 60 videos.

History

The iluli by Mike Lamb YouTube channel was created on 28th February 2019 with the first four videos being explainers about Encryption, AI, Open Source and Outdated Tech. All featured Mike Lamb’s voiceover and Mowe animation.

The first of these, with distinctive blue skin, appeared in the ‘Skipping Software Updates is More Dangerous Than You Think’ video in February 2020 and the full cast settled to their current iteration in December 2022’s ‘Does Science Have a Bias Problem?’

Over five years the channel also evolved to include regular blog posts and a monthly substack for subscribers to learn more about each month’s video topic.
