J Alan Erwine is a science fiction writer, editor and game designer. He has published at least 70 short stories so far, and has also published four novels, as well as created the Ephemeris Science Fiction Role Playing Game, the Battle for Turtle Island Role Playing Game, and the Rocks on the Other Side Role Playing Game.

His novels to date are The Opium of the People, Red Moon Rising, A Problem in Translation, Echoes from the Deep, and Goatherds and Gods (which was co-written with James B. Baker.)

Erwine has also written screenplays for The Opium of the People and A Problem in Translation.

Born in 1969, Erwine first lived in Ohio before eventually finding his way to Colorado where he now lives with his wife, one of their daughters, two cats, and a turtle.[2]
