James May and The Dull Men is a British television series presented by journalist James May in which May invents solutions to modern day problems.[2] The first episode aired on Quest and discovery+ on 5 November 2024. The series is produced by Plum Pictures, commissioned by Warner Bros. Discovery UK.
Premise
editThe show is a significant shift from James May's usual content, exploring the world of the “Dull Men’s Club,” a phenomenon born from a Facebook group of the same name. "Dull Men's Club" provides a space for those who find pleasure in the simple things, such as collecting bricks or photographing mailboxes, and existed in various forms prior to the invention of social media.[3][4]
The series will reflect this philosophy, presenting a unique perspective on everyday life. The show will see May team up with the 'club' to explore a range of unusual questions and test unique ideas, such as whether a washing machine can be used as a cooker.
