Jimmy Rusi Mistry (born 12 June 1971)is an Indian entrepreneur, hotelier, and real estate developer. He is known as the Founder and Chairman of Della Townships, GDV, Della Leaders Club, D.A.T.A. and Della Group.[1][2][3]
Early life & education
[edit]Jimmy Mistry was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in a Parsi Family. He did his education in mechanical engineering from Gujarat.[4]
Career & Work
[edit]Mistry began his entrepreneurial career in 1991 with Mistry Pest Control. The business was started with two employees and ₹20,000. In 1993, he entered interior contracting through The Design Centre, an interior design firm.[5] In 1995, he expanded into office furniture through Tecnica Office Systems Pvt. Ltd., which started manufacturing modular office furniture from a factory in Nagpur.[6]
In 2000, Jimmy Mistry entered the turnkey interior business, with early projects including Star TV in Mumbai. The company later worked across office interiors, corporate headquarters, architectural design, interior design and turnkey interior services.[7]
In 2005, Mistry entered real estate development with Della Tower in Mumbai.[8] In 2006, he developed Della Villas in Lonavala, Maharashtra. The same year, he organised the Della Design Show, a contemporary fashion show that combined architecture, interior design and fashion.[1] In 2006, Mistry worked on the architectural makeover of Kalizma, a 165-foot Edwardian motor yacht associated with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. The project involved studying naval architecture and redesigning and remodelling the yacht structure.[9][10] In 2008, Jimmy Mistry became the trustee of Bombay Parsi Punchayet, a 300-year-old charitable organization.[11][1]
In 2009, Jimmy Mistry launched Della Adventure Park in Lonavala. The project became part of Della Group's expansion into adventure tourism.[12][13] In 2017, Mistry launched Della D.A.T.A. (Della Adventure Training Academy), a tribute to every innocent life lost in terror attack. The project is a military-themed hospitality and training concept associated with military tourism.[1]
In 2021, Mistry founded Della Leaders Club, a global community and business platform for entrepreneurs, professionals and young leaders.[14][15] In 2025, Mistry founded Della Townships as an asset-light real estate integrated township platform.[16]
