John Flemm is an American businessman and philanthropist from Volusia County, Florida.[1]

Political career

edit

A business owner and non-profit board member in DeBary, Flemm ran in the Republican primary for Volusia County Clerk of the Circuit Court against two-term incumbent Laura E. Roth in 2024.[2] He ran on a platform of increasing constituent engagement and tied himself closely to former President Donald Trump.[3] The Clerk's race became far more visible than in previous years.[4][5] Flemm was praised for his public outreach, but he was criticized for his young age and lost the primary to Roth.[6][7][8]
