John Fortie was a reverend, businessman, and educator in the United States. He ran a school in Baltimore, Maryland.
He was a leader in Orchard Street Methodist Church.[1] He filed a petition in 1840.[2] The church was on Sharp Street in 1835. He and fellow monisters Nathaniel Peck and William Levengton wrote a letter published in a newspaper noting the "privileges" afforded their xommunity and pledging to maintain oeaceful relations with whites.[3]
