Life and Career
editEarly life
editYarden Peleg best known as JORDi (ג'ורדי), was born in Kiryat Motzkin, Israel to a Jewish family, Tzvi and Malka Peleg. Growing up, JORDi frequently accompanied his father, a famous radio broadcaster, to the station where he worked. He started taking an interest in music at a very young age and by 17 he had already produced his debut song, prompting him to leave high school. By the time he turned 18, JORDi had established a recording studio in his own home.
Career
editAfter establishing his first recording studio JORDi started collaborating with EZ, a highly successful Israeli rapper. Together, they recorded "Ben HaBodedim," which quickly became a major club hit across the country. Later that year, Jordi produced another song for EZ titled "Lo HaKol Min Allah," which achieved Jordi's first #1 on the Israeli billboard charts and remained there for two weeks.
In 2015, Jordi embarked on a transformative journey by producing the debut single for two emerging talents, Static & Ben El Tavori. Their collaboration on "Barbie"[2] was initially intended as a one-off project but quickly erupted into a cultural phenomenon. The track swiftly rose to become Israel's most-watched YouTube music video and thrust Static & Ben El into the forefront of the music industry. Their subsequent hits, like "Silsulim" and "Zahav," dominated the Israeli charts and broke records for radio plays. This success solidified Jordi's reputation as a visionary producer capable of delivering chart-topping hits.
Static & Ben El's next single "Tudo Bom," not only topped the Israeli Billboard for six weeks but also became the most-viewed music video on Israeli YouTube[3]. Jordi's production prowess earned him "Producer of the Year" accolades in 2018[4].
In 2018, JORDi joined Israel's Got Talent as a judge[5] and continues to redefine Israeli music, collaborating with top artists and influencing global trends. In 2023, he co-wrote and produced Alec Benjamin's single "I Sent My Therapist To Therapy" from the album "12 Notes" which debuted in the Top 10 Spotify's albums debut after its release. JORDi relocated with his family to Los Angeles in August 2024 [6]
