Jordi Urbea Castells (born June 6, 1970, in Sant Quirze de Besora, Barcelona) is a prominent figure in the field of digital marketing and advertising in Spain[1]. He currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Ogilvy in Spain and serves as CEO of Ogilvy Barcelona.[2][3]
Career
editUrbea played a pivotal role in overseeing the digital transformation of Ogilvy Spain's operations in Barcelona[4]. Under his tenure, he facilitated the establishment of Ogilvy's international Customer Engagement & Data hub in Europe, as well as the implementation of Ogilvy Mobile and Ogilvy Upcelerator, recognized as the Ogilvy group's first startup accelerator globally[5]. This initiative is widely regarded as groundbreaking in the industry.[6]
Early years (1985 – 2004)
editBefore joining Ogilvy, Urbea held various management positions in digital companies, including Servicom, EresMas, Wanadoo, and Intercom. In 1998, he founded the interactive agency Avatar e-Studios, which was later acquired by communications group Bassat Ogilvy & Mather in 1999. That same year, he assumed the role of CEO of Ogilvy Interactive, a position he held for five years.[7]
