Joseph Athalé is a football/soccer player for Olyimpique Saint Quentinois. This is a club in the Championnat National 2, which is the 3rd tier in French football. Joseph regularly gets a call up to his National team New Caledonia, and recently (as of November 13th 2024) scored two goals to secure a 3-2 win against Solomon islands in a World Cup qualifier match. Very impressive from the 29 year old to say the least. His semi professional football career began back in 2017 with the club AS Magneta, a team in New Caledonia’s football league. He played 2 and a half seasons with AS Magneta securing 9 games and scoring 2 goals. He then went on and signed for Hienghene Sport, a team also in New Caledonia’s first division. He played from 2019 to 2022 with Hienghene and played 12 games with them throughout those years. He scored 5 goals in those 12 games which isn’t too bad as he primarily played midfield during these seasons. His years in New Caledonia’s first division have past but he left with a big impact on his teams winning 3 league titles (2 With Hienghene the other with AS Magneta). His first two seasons with Olympique Saint-Quentinios have gone very well as Joseph hast played 36 games in a season and a half, a career high. He’s already making an impact scoring 6 times in his years with this club. Hopefully he can keep up this great form and he’ll get his club promoted for the first time since 2019!
