Josephine Anna-Sophia Marianne Ferguson (born 1983) is a British/Swedish writer and editor. She is known for her debut novel The Silence in Between (2024).

Early life

Born in Sweden, Ferguson moved to Scotland when she was two.

Ferguson graduated from Stockholm University with a vocational degree in Psychology.Biography

Career

In 2010, Ferguson joined Duncan Baird Publishers as a production Editor. In 2012 she began working as a freelance editor for Reedsy.

In 2023, Ferguson secured a pre-empt book deal with Transworld, a Penguin imprint. Her debut novel The Silence in Between, an historical novel about a woman separated from her baby when the border between East and West Germany was closed overnight, was published in June 2024. The novel was shortlisted for the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize.Shortlist

Personal life

Ferguson lives in Singapore with her husband and two children.
