Mohamed Medhat Saleh (born June 21, 2004), better known as KOME (stylized in all caps), is an American rapper from Harlingen, Texas. KOME started making music in 2016 online but it wasn't until late 2022 where he started performing and making noise in his home town that's when his music started to take off.
Music
editKOMES style is hard to describe because he is all over the place. But he seems to revolve around simplistic beats with a complex rapping style, Usually doing multi syllable rhymes. One thing he loves to do is use homophones in his tracks . KOMES style draws inspirations from MF Doom , Earl Sweatshirt , and JPEGMAFIA
KOMES music is known for its poetic writing style, complex rhyme schemes, homophones and a laid back delivery. His beat selection leans towards jazz-sample heavy, striped instrumentals but usually focuses on woodwinds/brass with trap drums layered on top. What makes KOME stand out is that you cant really expect what samples he is going to use.
Personal life
editVery little is known about KOMES life but he states that growing up in Egypt helped shape him and his persona. in an interview [1] KOME talks about his experience in Egypt and how Egyptian parties and weddings shaped the way he views his music an his life
However through some digging in his Twitter/X page [2]. He talks about how in high school he was part of Technology Student Association which is a global competition with different branches KOME entered and competed in music production competition and not only succeed in his regionals but also made it to state. Not much is known as to why he didn't continue.
Discography
