Introduction

Kaiyun Energy (Chinese: 北京开云能源有限公司) is a Chinese provider of new energy vehicle transformation solutions, headquartered in Beijing. Established in 2014, the company is led by CEO Wang Chao. Kaiyun Energy specializes in the design and development of new energy vehicles, creating custom solutions for specific applications.[1]

A successful serial entrepreneur,with over 20 years of motor design experience, have designed the BJ40 and the Mobike. He founded Kaiyun Motor in 2014.[1]

Formerly served as Corporate Vice President of Huawei, Sales President of Greater China, Vice President of Nokia China, and Vice President of Samsung China.[2]

David Tang, CVO

Founder of Apple's China subsidiary, served as the Corporate Vice President of Nokia. Later served as Corporate Senior VP of AMD & President of Greater China, core executives of 3COM, DEC, AST, independent director and chairman of ESG Committee of Kingsoft, independent directors of Standard Chartered Bank and YY Inc., and as a member of its ESG Committee now.[3]

Yi Liu, CCO

Formerly served as Xiaomi's Vice President of International Department, Vice President of China, , won the "Outstanding Contribution Award" for Xiaomi Group's 10th anniversary (only 10 people).  [4]

Products

Kaiyun Energy focuses on designing and developing battery-powered and hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicles tailored to specific scenarios. Their products are cyber style with stainless steel body.[5]

Their current product lineup includes:

One meter: Last mile delivery vehicle [6]

Ten cubic: Urban delivery van[7]

Hundred-ton: Heavy-duty truck for short-distance transportation, such as mining and port [8]

Milestones

KAIYUN ENERGY showcased three hydrogen-powered vehicles at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Exhibition held in Hannover, Germany, in 2024[9][10][11]
