Karmello English (born February 9, 2004) is an American football wide receiver for the West Georgia Wolves. He previously played for the Michigan Wolverines.
Early life and high school
editEnglish grew up in Phenix City, Alabama and attended Central High School where he was coached by Patrick Nix.[1] During his high school career, he set three single-season school records throughout his playing career with 75 receptions as a senior, 1,059 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior. He helped the Red Devils reach the Alabama Class 7A Championship during his junior season with a 13-1 record.[2] He was rated a four-star recruit[3] and originally committed to play college football at Auburn University[4] before switching his commitment to the University of Michigan.[5]
College career
editMichigan
editDuring English's true freshman season in 2023, he appeared in six games at wide receiver and one at punt returner. He caught one four-yard touchdown and one eight-yard punt.[6]
On March 23, 2024, English was reportedly no longer with Michigan after an absence from the spring roster.[7] Two days later, he announced that he would enter the transfer portal.[8]
West Georgia
editOn June 20, 2024, English announced that he would transfer to West Georgia.[9]
