Early and personal life

edit

Plumb grew up in Casa Grande, Arizona and graduated from Vista Grande High School in 2013. She married Aaron Plumb in 2015, and they have five children, a mixture of biological and adopted. Plumb graduated with a degree in Secondary Education - English from Northern Arizona University.[1] She worked as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher in Chandler, Arizona for a number of years before becoming an author.[2]

Career

edit

Plumb began writing her debut novel Buried when she was an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher. She wanted to write a novel that her students would love and was inspired by the works of Suzanne Collins and James Dashner. She self-published the book Buried in 2021. She said she was "inspired by the relationship [her] husband had with his late sister, how protective he and his brothers were over her and how much they loved her. [She] wanted to create a similar sibling relationship and explore how far a brother would go to protect his little sister."[1] The following year, 2022, Plumb released Lightkeepers: A Modern Rapunzel Retelling, but it wasn't until 2024 that the book began to take off, due to several viral posts on Instagram and TikTok. In 2024, Plumb released her third full-length novel Royale, which is the sequel to Buried and in it promises fans a third and final book in the series.[3]
