edit

During the marriage ceremony of the Khilai Vazhi Nattar Kallars, both the families change the Valari as a symbol of their culture. They said "send the valari and bring the bride".

They use Ambalakarar and Servaikarar titles behind their names. They tend to follow Matrilineality - Anthropology of kinship. They use branches name Arasiyan, Aryathan, Pichaiya, Cholan, Arasanan, Thondaiman, Kuruvili. According to this branch, maternal grandfather, sister and daughter belong to the same branch. Among them the practice of marrying the daughter of the maternal uncle and sister is completely prohibited.[2]
