Kubayenga is the first studio album by alternative rap artist Sema Sole, released on August 6, 2024, through Mellow Couch Records, It comes following his 2021 debut EP Bururu which was released to mass positive reviews.
Background
editKubayenga was first teased on November 5th 2022 through Sema Sole's personal twitter handle[1] and the first single Ukumbura was released on June 10th 2023. Through out 2023 a lot of mentions were made about the upcoming album which was set to release in early 2024, As confirmed in the first edition of Mellowfest on December 17th of the same year where huha, a song set to appear on the album was also previewed. On November 18 Sema Sole released the second single Nzaza which was meant as a teaser for the upcoming album and on the 21st December performed ntukihebe alongside Manzi Fleur, confirming the duos collaboration on the album. All throughout 2024 Sema Sole continued to build momentum for the upcoming release through different performances and collaborations.And on the 3rd of August the official tracklist and release day were announced as August 6th.
