- Comment: Interviews are WP:PRIMARY sources and don't count towards notability, leaving only one secondary source here (and even that one seems more like a sponsored article). ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 15:08, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

Lance Hayes is an American musician, composer, and producer, best known for creating soundtracks in the Forza video game series.
Early life
editBoth of Lance Hayes' parents were musicians, which gave Hayes an interest in music at a young age. As a child, Hayes used to go to his parents' concerts and started to play the trumpet and piano. He also began to write music at eleven. By high school, Hayes sang and played music in a variety of genres. In particular, he took in interest in electronic music and built an electronic music studio in his parents' house.[1]
Career
editIn his twenties, Lance Hayes developed music for theater, his band, and soundtracks for indie films. By his thirties, his music started to get licensed for commercial use.[1] In 2002, Hayes became a freelancer[2] and began to take an interest in video game soundtracks when he went to the 2005 Game Developers Conference to learn more about the video game industry.[1] Later in the same year, he composed music for an indie video game, which was the first video game he made music for.[1][3]
Hayes was chosen to be the composer for the soundtrack of Forza Motorsport 3 after an interview with Turn 10 Studios audio director Greg Shaw. During development of music for Forza Motorsport 3, Turn 10 Studios wanted Hayes to compose music that felt more "chillout" and "sophisticated", as they wanted the game to differ from most racing games at the time that had more intense soundtracks. For Forza Motorsport 4's soundtrack, Hayes composed music that was more dramatic to accompany with the game's user interface.[4] For Forza Motorsport 5, Hayes developed music mockups in 2012. In 2013, he started composing and recording music for the game.[3] Hayes also worked on music for Gears of War 3.[4]
In 2015, Hayes started a career in project management. To aid in starting his career, he contacted management experts for advice.[2]
