Langha Phobia is a 2024 Fiji Hindi film written and directed by Vimal Reddy. The film was shot in Fiji and Australia by cinematographer Michael Firus, and premiered in Melbourne on the 13th of August.[1] The film deals with the tangled interplay between culture, marriage and gender roles. The film teases open taboo issues surrounding generational and geographic culture transitions.[1] The film highlights the theme of violence against women, but also the challenges faced by men in marriages. The film casts lead actors Adwin Awadh and Pritash Dutt. The film was launched in Fiji by Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad.[2] Langha Phobia follows style of earlier works.[3] by Vimal Reddy that includes Adhura Sapna, Ghar Pardes and Highway to Suva that explore the themes of migration and cultural change and blends in comedy with drama featuring Fijian and Australian actors mainly from Indo-Fijian descent.

Synopsis

After a blissful beginning to Gopendra (Gopi) and Shanti’s married life in Fiji, things take a big turn when Gopi starts showing his chauvinistic ways. Having no other option for a peaceful existence Shanti comes up with a cunning plan to get some sanity back in her life. And that’s when the chaos begins..[1]
