Lari & Gafa were a Catalan comedy duo active between 2005 and 2008, known for their parodic versions of music videos. They became pioneers in the use of digital platforms and are considered among the first YouTubers in the world, at a time when the phenomenon of online content creation was just beginning to emerge.

The duo was known for their ability to adapt famous music videos with a homemade and humorous style, using improvised costumes, simple sets, and a great deal of creativity. Their recreations featured absurd choreography, exaggerated performances, and a carefree attitude that quickly resonated with audiences. Through their uploads on YouTube and other digital platforms, Lari & Gafa captured the attention of an international audience, long before the rise of content creators as we know them today.

Their career was short but highly impactful, as they laid the groundwork for what would later become a global phenomenon: humorous audiovisual content produced in an amateur fashion and freely shared on the internet. Despite their brief trajectory, Lari & Gafa are remembered as pioneers in the digital space, with a style that influenced many creators in the years to come. In May 2006, they managed to place one of their videos (a Britney Spears one) in the TOP 100 most-viewed videos on Google Video [1] and causing a sensation in Asia, where their videos appeared in various TOP 100 rankings [2].

Their website is still active.[3] but there are hardly any references to their career beyond the thousands of comments and millions of views on their YouTube videos [4]. The platforms through which they became famous no longer exist or are now almost obsolete: MySpace, Fotolog, spaces.msn.com or Blogspot, for example. Despite all this, some references to Lari & Gafa on such platforms are still available, but they are few, and many have lost their original format. However, they come from all over the world.
