Biography

edit

Fabrikant was born in Riga and moved with her family to Jerusalem, Israel when she was two. There she followed piano and composition lessons for more than a decade at the Hassadna Music Conservatory and the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance. in 2009, having moved to Berlin, she started photography studies in the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie und Gestaltung.

Since 2013 Fabrikant performs live together with Tarik Barri, from 2019 on as Zo. The duo use a self-developed system of pre-recorded AV loops, MIDI triggers and creative programming to create a virtual universe of sound and light in real time.[4] They perform at festivals in Europe like Sonár, TodaysArt[5] and tour through the US in 2022. The realtime nature of the performances make that Zo is mainly a live-experience, but in 2021 a collection of works is published by Feral Note.[6]
