Lego Fortnite (stylised all caps) is a Lego theme based on the online video game of the same name. It is licensed from Epic Games, which The Lego Group's parent company itself, Kirkbi A/S, currently holds a 3% ownership stake in. The theme was released on October 1, 2024, while promotional sets were released to tie-in with the game mode the year prior.

Background

edit

On April 7, 2022, Epic Games announced that they had entered a partnership with The Lego Group, and while details were scarce, the two companies were working on creating a "metaverse" designed for younger audiences.[1] As a result, Lego's parent company, Kirkbi A/S, invested US$1 billion into Epic Games.[2]

A year later on November 21, 2023, Lego uploaded a teaser to Twitter unveiling the Supply Llama from the game made out of Lego bricks, thus confirming that the collaboration was underway.[3]

Characters

edit
  • Battalion Brawler: One of the recruits and a snapshot of Jonesy. He made his debut during Chapter 3: Season 1 as one of the default outfits.
  • Adventure Peely: A remix of the original Peely outfit, with the appearance of a banana wearing a blue shirt and a red bandanna, with white face paint markings. He made his debut during Chapter 5: Season 1 in the shop to coincide with the release of Lego Fortnite.
  • Meowscles: A muscular male calico cat wearing suspenders, with a heart tattoo with the word "Lynx" written on his right arm. He made his debut during Chapter 2: Season 2 in the Top Secret battle pass.
