Leon du Preez (born in Centurion; 9 July 1984) is a South-African preacher, author of numerous publications, and founder of Encounter Church, a Pentecostal and Charismatic church movement established in 2016.[2] with campuses located in South Africa and a campus in the USA.[3]

Personal Life

edit

Born on 8 July 1984 in Centurion, South Africa, Du Preez married Este-Lee Badenhorst on 23 June 2011, and later had two daughters, Scarlet Grace (born 19 January 2015) and Bethany Angel (born 19 January 2017).

Du Preez had an encounter with God at the age of 17 years old in a Johannesburg drug den[4], where God called him “to take a supernatural encounter to this generation through a demonstration of His Spirit and Power.” [5]

He is internationally recognised as a Minister, Prophet, Business Mentor, Keynote Speaker, Entrepreneur, Author, and Philanthropist [6], who has earned a favourable reputation within the Church sector, both locally and globally [7].

Ministry

edit

Encounter Ministries International

edit

Leon du Preez’s ministry was birthed after 11 years of training under Marc Bredenkamp, a Prophet and Pastor of Destiny Centre in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban, South Africa. Ordained and sent out into full-time ministry in 2013[8], Leon du Preez returned to his hometown in Centurion, South Africa, with his wife Este-Lee du Preez. They founded Encounter Ministries International from their living room.

Thereafter, du Preez travelled in itinerant ministry as a revivalist both within South Africa and abroad, bringing a message of hope, salvation and deliverance. With an emphasis on deliverance and the supernatural, Leon du Preez’s vision is to bring revival to the continent of Africa and beyond.[citation needed]

In 2017, Du Preez initiated a nationwide revival in Namibia – seeing thousands saved, hundreds miraculously healed, and thousands supernaturally delivered within two weeks. This attracted the attention of the media within Namibia, resulting in Leon du Preez being invited to their National Good Morning Namibia TV Show.[citation needed]

Encounter Church Campuses

edit

Encounter Church is considered one of the fastest-growing churches in South Africa.[9] Since its establishment in 2019, it has planted 4 Encounter Church campuses.[citation needed] In South Africa, these consist of Centurion Head Quarters, Krugersdorp, and Cape Town. In Georgia, USA is the Statesboro campus.

Encounter Church has an international footprint and widespread network[citation needed], impacting countless lives across the World through live broadcasting.[citation needed]

Du Preez’s vision and mandate is to reach millions across the globe. He has earned a favourable reputation within the Church sector, both locally and globally.[citation needed] The vision track of Encounter Church seeks to train her members through various Training Programs, including the process of deliverance.

Prophetic Institute

edit

Leon du Preez is both the Founder and President of the Prophetic Institute.[10] Established in 2019, the Prophetic Institute trains and equips Christians on the subject of the Prophetic.[citation needed] Leon du Preez is recognised as one who carries the mantle and role of a Prophet in the body of Christ, endorsed by Senior Leaders, Ministers, and Prophets while being closely mentored by Uebert Angel.[citation needed]

Global School of Ministry

edit

Established in 2021[citation needed] under the mastery of Leon du Preez, the Global School of Ministry claims to train Christians to “Discover the Mind of God for their lives.”[citation needed]

Through theological education that is thorough, biblically-based and practical, the Global School of Ministry trains students in revelation, impartation, activation, and demonstration, for the purpose of their destinies and purpose to be fulfilled.[citation needed]

With an online Learning Management System to accommodate long-distance learning, the Global School of Ministry consists of an option of 3 modules per year for a Certificate, or 5 modules per year for a Diploma.

The Global School of Ministry is accredited by Transworld Accrediting Commission International.[citation needed]

These singles were both written and composed by Encounter Worship. “Prophetic Angel” reached number 1. [citation needed] and “Everything Is Possible” reached number 1. [citation needed]

As a registered Section 18A organisation[citation needed], Encounter Hope is an initiative that reaches orphanages, rehabilitation centres, old age homes, and underprivileged communities.[citation needed] Encounter Hope fed hundreds of families during the 2020 COVID-19 National Lockdown in South Africa. [citation needed] In July 2021, Encounter Hope once again fed hundreds of families after South Africa’s violent looting, riots and Civil Unrest which had left many destitute. [citation needed]
