Biography
Nicholas Madrigal (ニコラス メードリガル (Nikorasu Meedorigaru) is an American artist, singer-songwriter, fashion designer, director born July 7, 1997 in Sacramento, California. They are known by their stage name Lil Bruh Gwop in the United States and Europe. With a background rooted in alternative music scenes. Growing up, he explored various forms of artistic expression and found his voice in the realm of emo-pop. His music is defined by a blend of vulnerability and existential reflection, often incorporating cosmic and alien motifs inspired by his belief in starseeds and interstellar connections.
Career
Lil Bruh Gwop started his career by releasing independent mixtapes, gradually building a dedicated fanbase online. His breakthrough came with the release of singles like Love Spell (with Rainy Bear) and Aura Glow, which solidified his presence in the alternative music world. Known for his experimental approach to music, he often combines elements of emo, pop, and electronic sounds. From debut collaborations over the last decade, which introduced listeners to emotive storytelling & atmospheric soundscapes such as “The Wired” a collaboration with Chiaki J. Konaka and Ryūtarō Nakamura, the creators of the anime Serial Experiments Lain. A match made in heaven for their audience. This collaboration has garnered attention from fans of both art & anime. The anime is known for its mind-bending themes and philosophical undertones, which mirror the kind of introspective journey that Gwop's music often takes listeners on. Creating a multimedia experience that transcends traditional boundaries and challenges listeners to think differently about the world around them. This collaboration with the creators of Serial Experiments Lain, a Japanese anime television series created / co-produced by Yasuyuki Ueda. Written by Chiaki J.
