Early Life
editLorena Medina, born in Mexico City, Mexico, showed promise as a singer from an early age. Discovered at 16 during a school performance, she was offered a record deal by Sony Music Mexico. However, having lost both her parents a year earlier, Lorena's relatives rejected the contract and she decided to forget about music.[1]
Move to the United States and modeling career
editFrom a very early age, she lived alone, being independent, traveling looking for job opportunities, until she settled in Miami, where she was noticed by a director from Elite Models. This encounter led to an eight-year modeling career in Los Angeles and Miami.
During this period, Lorena featured in various fashion magazines and campaigns for international brands like Forever 21, New Balance, Coca Cola, Sketchers and Playboy.
She was also cast in a popular MTV UK television show, which elevated her to celebrity status in the UK by 2019.[2]
Music Career
editIn 2019, Lorena Medina rekindled her passion for music. She declined an offer from noted producer RedOne to join a girl band, choosing instead to pursue a solo career. In 2021, she paused her modeling career to focus fully on music, spending nine months in Medellín, Colombia. There, she collaborated with local producers and creative artists associated with well-known Latin music figures.[1]
Lorena's music career officially began with the release of her debut single "Perfil Falso," produced by Ily Wonder. In 2022, she signed with Always Management and moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to continue her songwriting and music production, contributing to various other music projects as a songwriter.
She released then several songs like "Medellin", "Reggaelo", "Bendito", "C'Mon C'Mon" and in 2023 "Bolero".[3][2]
Public Appearances and Contributions
editLorena Medina has made notable public appearances, including performances at events in Spain such as the Global Gift Gala in Marbella, Los 40 Pop By Tony Aguilar in Lorca and during La Vuelta 2022 (an international cycling competition) in Madrid and Utrecht (The Netherlands).
She was indeed the singer and writer of "C'Mon C'Mon", the official song of La Vuelta 2022, that was broadcated daily between august and september 2022 on radios and TVs in 190 countries.[3]
