Draft:Lung Care Foundation

Lung Care Foundation (LCF) is a not-for-profit trust fund dedicated to improving lung health of Indians by supporting research and healthcare, as well as raising awareness. It was founded by Dr. Arvind Kumar, Mr. Rajiv Khurana, Dr. Belal Bin Asaf, and Mr. Abhishek Kumar.[1]

Contributions

LCF's works includes:

  • provide free chest disease detection and treatment
  • provide free school health programs to children from private and public schools of Delhi[2]
  • create and distribute asthma manual for schools, which provides detailed information on asthma including its triggers and emergency medical care (available in 11 regional languages)[3]
  • initiated B.E.S.T (Breathe Easy Stay Tough) school clubs, a unique initiative led by school children to effectively empower them by making them lung ambassadors in the fight against air pollution[4]
  • initiated Doctors for Clean Air (DFCA), a network of passionate doctors from various states of India, working as advocates for clean air[5]
  • initiated Saaf Hawa Aur Nagrik (SHAN), a unique social awareness program to educate masses in Delhi-NCR about ill-effects of air pollution being run in collaboration with the American embassy at New Delhi

LCF broke the Guinness World Record for the largest human image of an organ by 5003 School Children from over 35 different schools from Delhi-NCR at Thyagraj Stadium Delhi on 23 December 2017 (previous records of China and U.A.E).[6][7]
