Draft:MATE (internet provider)

  • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:NCORP) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’.
Please note that many of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable for establishing notability and should be removed (such as blogs, company websites, Twitter, YouTube).
Additionally, the draft tends to read too much like a company history, which Wikipedia is not.
Also, the draft does not appear to show that the subject has any notability beyond the average coverage in trade publications for similar corporations (see WP:ROTM).
Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.
It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:NCORP criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 01:26, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

MATE

edit

MATE is an independent Australian telecommunications company that was formed in 2016 in response to a gap in Australia’s National Broadband Network (NBN) rollout market.[1]

MATE uses the NBN infrastructure to provide home internet plans and the Telstra Wholesale mobile network to provide customers with 4G and 5G mobile plans.[2]

The company is the largest privately owned internet and mobile provider and the fastest-growing telecommunications provider in Australia.[3]

MATE is headquartered in Wetherill Park, New South Wales, Australia. The company employs over 60 people from Western Sydney and has committed to maintaining its customer service operations in Australia by choosing not to relocate its call centre overseas.[4]

History

edit

2016-2018

edit

MATE was founded in 2016 by twin brothers David and Mark Fazio and family friend Jonathan Dundovic.[5] MATE started as a family and friend business and was first established in the Fazio brothers’ aunt’s backyard in Smithfield.[6]

The company was launched in response to the nationwide rollout of NBN, which resulted in a widespread switch in service providers across Australia.[7][8]

Within the first three years of operation, MATE experienced a substantial revenue increase, growing by 3,703%, indicative of the company's successful local business model.[9]

2019

edit

Initially focused on providing NBN services, in 2018, MATE expanded its offerings to include mobile plans.[10]

MATE came second to Afterpay in the Deloitte Tech Fast 50 Awards, recognising the Australian technology company’s rapid growth within a period of three years. After receiving this prestigious placement, in 2019, David and Mark Fazio chose to move the business into formal office spaces.[11]

2020-2021

edit

Since March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, MATE’s Australian-based customer service call centre contributed to the 100% growth of the company.[12] In 2021, MATE partnered with sports sponsorship platform, MyFavorito.[13]

2023-present

edit

Alongside internet and mobile phone services, MATE is expecting to launch new products into the market. In 2023, MATE’s co-CEO and founder Mark Fazio said that the company aims to remain independent and double in size over the next 24 months.[14]
