Madison Parsons (born December 6, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for USL Super League club Lexington SC. She played college soccer for the Chico State Wildcats.

Early life and college career

edit

Parsons was born in Sacramento, California, to Amber and Kenneth Parsons, and has eight siblings. She played high school soccer at Ponderosa High School, where she was the league's most valuable player as a junior and a three-time all-conference selection, before graduating in 2018.[1] She played youth club soccer for Blues FC of the NorCal Premier League.[2]

Chico State Wildcats

edit

Parsons redshirted and sat out her first two seasons with the NCAA Division II Chico State Wildcats due to two knee surgeries. After her junior season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she scored six goals with one assist in 17 games in her senior year in 2021.[1][2] She scored three of her goals in the span of three minutes and four seconds in a 4–1 win over Fresno Pacific, the fastest hat trick in California Collegiate Athletic Association history.[2][3]

Club career

edit

UPSL

edit

After college, Parsons began her professional career with United Premier Soccer League club Yuba FC in 2023. She captained the team and was its top scorer. She then captained the UPSL side CDA from Chico.[4]

Lexington SC

edit

Parsons attended open tryouts for USL Super League club Lexington SC at the end of 2023.[4][2] Lexington announced her signing on June 24, 2024, ahead of the league's inaugural 2024–25 season.[4] She scored Lexington's first home goal at its new stadium in a 3–2 defeat to Tampa Bay Sun FC on September 8.[5] She scored her first professional brace in a 2–1 comeback win over Fort Lauderdale United FC on October 19. She was recognized as the league's Player of the Month for October with two goals and two assists.[6]
