Mantosh Dewan (born July 22, 1951) is an American Psychiatrist and current President of the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. The State University Board of Trustees named Dewan a distinguished service professor in 2009, SUNY's highest faculty honor. He previously served as interim dean of Upstate's medical school and chair of the Upstate's psychiatry department.[1][2]
Career
editDewan completed medical school in 1975 from University of Bombay, T.N. Medical College, India, and after his internship trained in psychiatry at Upstate in 1979.[3] He was named chair of the Upstate's psychiatry department in 1999. In 2020, after 41 years of service, he was been named president of the academic medical center.[4]
