María Teresa Arredondo Waldmeyer is a Argentine engineer and Professor at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) .[1] She was the first electronic engineer at the National University of Tucumán, and the first female professor in the field of Telecommunications Engineering at the UPM and in Spain.[2] She is currently attached to the Department of Photonic Technology and Bioengineering at the UPM, where she teaches bioengineering.[3][4]
She is the founder and director of Life Supporting Technologies , a research group within the UPM of international excellence dedicated to research, innovation and technological development in the field of health and health systems to prevent, care for and promote a better quality of life in society, supporting inclusion and independent living.[5]
His research and innovation work in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) applied to health and social inclusion has had a significant impact on improving people's quality of life.
She has published more than 200 articles in scientific journals and has directed more than 50 doctoral theses. She is an international reference in her field and has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work.
