Mariam Rajput (born September, 1989) is an American-Pakistani Painter and Arabic calligraphy artist.[1] Her style blends modern painting techniques with traditional Islamic art forms.[2]

Influenced by her dual American and Pakistani heritage, Rajput draws on the rich artistic traditions of Islamic Illumination to create art that reflects both cultural diversity and shared human experiences.[2]

She lives in the United States.

Rajput is a featured artist with Saatchi Art,[3] Las Laguna Gallery[4], and Art in Embassies,[5] a division of the United States Department of State.

Early life and education

Rajput was born in Karachi, Pakistan. Her artistic journey is rooted in Islamic art, sacred geometry and calligraphy. Rajput holds a Masters degree in applied behavior analysis and is currently a Ph.D Candidate in clinical psychology in the United States.[6]

Awards and recognitions

Rajput's first major recognition was in 2018 from WomanUp! in Philadelphia[7] where she was awarded the 'Women's Empowerment Award' for her contributions to art and her community. More recently she has been recognized as a 'Rising Star' by the American Pakistan Foundation's Women Who Soar Award[8][9] in 2023.
