Maryse Carrère (born on April 8, 1967, in Estaing, Hautes-Pyrénées[2] is a French politician and a member of the Radical Party of the Left. She currently serves as a senator and the departmental councilor of Hautes-Pyrénées.

Maryse Carrère began her political career as a candidate a for mayor of Lau-Balagnas. She was elected mayor in the 2001 French municipal elections[3][4] and reelected in 2008[5] and 2014[6].

On January 8, 2014, she was elected president of the joint union Pays de Lourdes et des Vallées des Gaves[7]. On April 22, 2014, she was reelected to this office[8][9][10].

She was the Vice President of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée de Saint-Savin until 2016.

Following the merger of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée de Saint-Savin with 3 intercommunities, she was elected as Vice President of the Communauté de communes Pyrénées Vallées des Gaves and in charge of sports equipment.[11][12][13][14]

During the 2010 French regional elections, she appeared in 6th place[15] in the 1st round on the list of presidential majority in Hautes-Pyrénées, but she did not get elected.
