Matthew ("Matt") Curless is a longtime educator, musician, and designer from Cincinnati, Ohio. Since 1999, Matt has been a teacher in the district he grew up in, West Clermont High School. Matt was born in Cincinnati on May 12, 1972 to Alvin (a self-employed landscaper) and Judy (a stay-at-home Mom). Matt's parents were married on June 16th, 1962, and tried for almost 6 years to have a child, when they gave birth to Cindy Curless. Matt attended Clough Pike Elementary. He vividly remembers kindergarten in the Winter of January 1978, saying, "I had no idea at the time that we had a blizzard that only allowed us to go to school 5 days in January. We were off so many days, that when we finally go
t back to school in February, I thought I was in the first grade!" Although Matt grew up as an artist, he developed a love for computers early on, receiving a Commodore 64 for Christmas in 1983. "My family couldn't afford a disk drive like some of the neighborhood kids," Curless added, "so I learned BASIC programming and created my own." In addition to being a wrestler and track athlete, Matt was awarded "Most Talented" by his senior class at Glen Este High School in 1990.
