Matteo Faustini (Brescia, 5 October 1994) is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician.[1]
Biography
editBorn in Brescia, he graduated in linguistic sciences and foreign literature in 2016 and in 2019 he became a primary school teacher in Cologne.[2]
Career
editPassionate about music since he was a child, he joined the children's choir of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan at the age of thirteen, approaching opera. He took part in various musical competitions such as Voce Il Tunnel in Lodi, where he won the critics' prize awarded by the singer-songwriter Andrea Mirò, the Arese Song Festival, where he placed second and won the prize for the best unpublished work at the Franco Reitano Prize Competition, and the Ghedi Festival where he received a special prize and a scholarship at the Lizard Academie Musicali. He participates and wins the Voce The Tunnel 2017 competition and becomes part of the band Smooth Criminals, a tribute band to Michael Jackson with which he carries out a European tour. Since 2018 he has collaborated in an authoritative way with Marco Rettani and with the Dischi dei dreamers label, with which he published his first album Figli delle favole which in 2020 debuted in second place in the iTunes chart and entered the FIMI chart as one of the best-selling records. .
In 2019 he won the Area Sanremo competition with the song Nel bene e nel male, while the following year he participated in the Sanremo Festival 2020 in the debutants category. On this occasion he was awarded the Lunezia Prize for the literary value of the text. Subsequently he was hosted in the television programs venire da me, una storia da canto, telethon and l'italia con voi and undertook a tour around Italy and the world.
On April 24, 2020, the second single I, written together with Marco Rettani, would be broadcast on the radio; the song is an open-hearted letter that expresses the singer-songwriter's feelings and state of mind towards today's society. A video clip was also produced for the single, directed by Gaetano Morbioli.
Followed by the single Il Cuore Cash Forte, released on 4 September 2020, filmed in Sirmione and directed again by Gaetano Morbioli. After three months a new single is released from the debut album La Bocca del Cuore.
On March 24, 2021 he published the video clip of Il gobbo, with the participation of the National Center against Bullying "Bulli stop". The new single 1+1 will be released on June 15, 2021; a video with Romolo Guerreri is produced. The single is launched into radio rotation. On June 29th the single Stanco di Pianri will be released only on digital platforms, with a video clip directed by Francesco Ferri Faggioli.
On 22 December 2021 he took part in the Christmas Contest on TV2000, winning the award for best lyrics, thanks to which he will perform on Christmas Eve on Canale 5. On Christmas Day he published the video clip of the single on Warner. Musica Italia YouTube channel.
On 19 February 2022, with the song L'ultimo parole he was a finalist among the big names of Una voci per San Marino, the competition that chose the San Marino representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. On 3 March, on his Youtube channel, he published the video clip of the single.
On July 5, 2022 he released the single Three Levels. The summer tour follows in various Italian locations.
On 5 December 2022, the single Girasole amore della luna was released, a song entirely written by the singer-songwriter who, raising awareness against homophobia in a society that discriminates and judges, declares his love for the soul, rejecting labels and preconceptions. The single anticipates the release of the second album Condivivere, out on December 9th.[3]
