Zillul Karim (born 4 January 1987) is a Bangladeshi Social Entrepreneur based in Dhaka.[1] He is the co-founder of several initiatives aimed at improving Educational and parenting resources in Bangladesh.[2][3]

Biography

Zillul Karim co-founded Light of Hope, a project providing educational tools to children. According to the organization, it has reached over 30,000 children with innovative learning tools. He is also the founder of ToguMogu, a parenting application that, as of 2024, has "over 200,000 users".[2] Through ToguMogu and Light of Hope, Karim has collaborated with organizations such as Grameen Danone Food, a social enterprise co-founded by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, to raise awareness among parents and children for importance of healthy eating habits for children.[4][5] Additionally, his organisation partnered with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to promote sexual and reproductive health awareness.[6]

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Karim worked in the corporate sector for seven years.[7]

Recognition and awards

Zillul Karim gained recognition as a successful young social entrepreneur through his work in education and parenting support. He began his entrepreneurial journey as a co-founder of Light of Hope, an organization focused on improving children's Education[7] later, he founded ToguMogu, a parenting app designed to assist millennial parents.[8] During the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh, Karim submitted a project under the government's Access to Information initiative and was awarded 1st runner-up.[9] receiving financial support for the project's execution.[10][7] In 2022, Karim was recognized with the Basis national ICT award for his work on the ToguMogu app.[11][7] Additionally, ToguMogu was honored with the United Nations Population Fund Innovation award in 2022.[12] Also Joint Innovation Challenge and STITCH for RMG Global innovation Challenge, Organized by BRAC (organisation) and The Asia Foundation.[13][14]
