edit

Competing in the Calgary Performing Arts Festival in 2015, Jien won the Woodwind Solo - Baroque Sonata 18 years and under division.[5]

Jien received her bachelor's of music in flute performance from the University of Calgary, holding the position of Principal Flute of the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble and composing a clarinet quartet that premiered in 2017.[6][7]

While attending the University of Toronto,[8][9][10][11] Jien released her first EP, Wildfire,[12] and contributed to the score[13] of the online game The Day The Sky Fell.[14] Her short film "What Is Music to You?" was selected for the Create From Home Film Festival.[15][16] She later graduated with a master's degree in music[17] and built her community on Twitch.[18]

In May 2023, Jien performed at MOGUL HOUSE for her first show in the United States,[19][20] also fielding questions between songs.[21] In November 2023, she performed at the Jade Music Fest,[22][23] where she utilized live looping to layer live guitar, vocals, and flute,[24][25] returning for the 2024 version in Taiwan.[26] Jien opened for Meadowlark on their final live performance in December of 2023.[27]
