Motus Ignota, which is the literal translation of "movements unknown", or less literally "unknown emotion" derived from Latin, is a feeling something and/ or someone gives you that you have not yet felt, and are somewhat unfamiliar to. This feeling is commonly characterized by slight Nausea along with chest pain and Butterflies in the stomach. Usually Motus Ignota is felt in Adolescents or teenage years. It is commonly felt after an unsuspected breakup, after getting cheated on, seeing something that reminds you of a deceased relative, seeing something extremely beautiful, hearing a loved ones voice for the last time, looking at someone who you believe is sexually unattainable, and when you think of that one person who you fell in love with without even dating. Motus Ignota can be scary and even provoke tears, but remember, it is important to embrace the highs and the lows. No matter how heavy this feeling may feel, there is always an indescribable beauty behind Motus Ignota, maybe because of the fact that it reminds us that we are all human. we have all felt this feeling of not knowing how we feel, that is what makes it so special. when you are somewhat perplexed with how you are feeling, and someone asks, "how are you?" leaving you struggling to respond because truly, you don't know, you can now respond with: "Motus Ignota"
