The Music City Review (https://www.musiccityreview.com/) is a leading music and arts review website based in Nashville, Tennessee or "Music City U.S.A.". The Music City Review and it's contributors spend most of their focus on art music and cultural music rather than the country or honky tonk that Nashville is known for. As the founder and editor, Joseph Morgan, elaborates "When you hear the term 'Music City, U.S.A.' one often thinks of our proud tradition of country music, not only the honky tonks on Broadway (bless their hearts), or all of the companies on music row, but also perhaps that old evening soap opera named after the city itself. These things are very nice, and provide a wonderful tourist income for the city, but there is so much more to this town than that, and this is what this site wishes to cover. Just to be clear, I have nothing against country music, I just want to hear about other artistic aspects of this beautiful and diverse city." [1] Types of music explored by the site include: classical music with the Nashville Symphony, Nashville Philharmonic, Nashville Opera, Nashville Ballet and many other venues; Latinx music including the ever-growing Latinx community in Nashville suburbs like Antioch and continue a monthly news letter "Nashville Sonido Latino"[2]; Jazz as an ever growing practice in Nashville with local venues such as Rudy's Jazz Club and the Nashville Jazz Workshop, including another monthly news letter "Nashville's Jazz Beat"[3]; and popular music beyond the scope of country music including shows from modern groups at Bridgestone, The Ryman, Ascend Amphiteatre, etc. They also collaborate with local universities such as Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State University to shine light onto the up and coming musicians of the area.
