NUVO Music School
editNUVO Music School.[1] is a music school located in South Surrey formed in 2011 founded by Lesley C. MacTavish[2], a Saskatchewan Native who is a music lover. She obtained a degree of education and taught on a several schools.
She has the important role in their music school as a placement specialist. Every student has unique needs and interest that's why she wants to match it to the right teacher to have a satisfying learning experiences.
History
editLesley MacTavish was raised in a farm community. As her consciousness grew she found herself loving the piano music. She discovered that there were available lessons that time but most teacher were less qualified, some were far from her area.
She wants the new generation to have better options and access for piano lessons. She would love to fulfill her passion for music, which is why she earned a piano degree.
Her journey began as a pianist. She then joined the Western Canada Competition and won, she never forgot one of her goals: to provide high-quality music education. She earned an education degree and taught students from 4 years old to adults at The Royal Conservatory.
2012 to Present
editThe school was named NUVO where it was first published at NUVO townhouse. This 2024, NUVO Music School still exist with over 25 passionate and qualified music teachers.

In-Home Lessons
editIn-home lessons are where the teacher comes to the house of students. Due to hectic schedule of the parents, this is the convenient for them and they love this set-up.

editMost of the students love the in-home and studio type of lessons, not until the existence of COVID-19. Thanks to the new technology of Zoom and FaceTime where students embrace the transition. Today, there some students still do online lessons while other return to in-home set-up.

editNUVO Music School has 2 recitals per year. One recital is for the Christmas season and One is for end of the school year to give an opportunities to every students to showcase what they had learn.
