The Nacelle Company
editThe Nacelle Company is an American diversified media company founded by Brian Volk-Weiss in 2017. It operates across various entertainment sectors, including scripted and unscripted production, development, marketing, management, and consumer products. Nacelle is the parent company of Comedy Dynamics, and home to the Nacelleverse[1], a shared universe reviving classic brands into new toys, comic books, consumer products, and animated series[2].
Before founding Nacelle, Brian Volk-Weiss was the senior vice president at the Barry Katz Entertainment Group (BKEG), where he led the talent and production divisions. In 2003, BKEG merged with New Wave Entertainment[3]. In 2008, Volk-Wiess founded New Wave Dynamics, later known as Comedy Dynamics[4]. The Nacelle Company was established as an independent entity in 2017.
Nacelle has produced and distributed a variety of shows across major networks including Netflix, Disney+, HBO, Max, Amazon, Hulu, Peacock, and The CW. Some of the company’s productions include Down to Earth with Zac Efron[5], The Toys That Made Us[6][7][8], The Movies That Made Us[9][10], Behind the Attraction[11][12][13], Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black History[14][15], Icons Unearthed[16], and Billy Corgan’s Adventures in Carneyland[17][18].
In 2022, Nacelle expanded by introducing a consumer products division focused on reviving established toy properties, such as Biker Mice from Mars[19], RoboForce[20][21][22], Sectaurs[23], Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa[24][25], Power Lords, The Great Garloo[26], and Big Loo. These brands are being reimagined through new toy lines, comic books, and animated series within the shared Nacelleverse[27]. Current projects include RoboForce: The Animated Series, co-produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Seven Bucks Productions[28], and Biker Mice From Mars, co-produced by Ryan Reynolds and Maximum Effort[29][30]. In addition, the company has produced action figures for the Amazon TV Series The Expanse[31][32].
In 2024, Nacelle announced a partnership with Walmart to distribute Nacelleverse products in stores nationwide[33][34]. The partnership includes exclusive brands and dedicated end caps in Walmart stores, featuring action figures such as Maxx 89 and Wrecker from RoboForce, Throttle, Vinny, and Modo from Biker Mice From Mars, Dargon and Stellara from Sectaurs, and The Great Garloo.
