Najmeddin Shariati (Persian: نجمالدین شریعتی; born July 12, 1980) is an Iranian producer and television presenter.
Biography
editShariati was born in Tonekabon, Mazandaran, on July 12, 1980, He continued his studies in the field of computer engineering, software branch and succeeded in obtaining a bachelor's degree.[1] Shariati got married in the early 2000s at the age of 24, the result of which was a son named Mohyeddin.[2]
Career
editHe started his career at a young age and officially entered the Broadcasting Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran by performing the Nimrukh program in 2000. After that, he joined the Zolal Ahkam program between 2005 and 2009. A little later, the program Samte Khoda was aired on TV with his performance from 2009, which, according to Iranian media, was well received by the TV audience in Iran.[3] He said goodbye to the program for a while in 2022, but returned to the program again in September of the same year.[4] The type of his performance in the Samte Khoda program was a kind of innovation in radio and television religious programs, and therefore it was also criticized.[5] Shariati appeared as a presenter in the program Mahe Man in the years 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2019, which was broadcast on the occasion of the month of Ramadan on IRIB TV3 channel, and also the program Life After Life, which was on IRIB TV4 channel.[6] He was also in charge of hosting the Hosseinieh Moalla program on IRIB TV3 channel and the fifth season of the Oghyanouse Aram program on IRIB TV2 channel.[7][8] In addition to performing, Shariati also plays an active role in producing. He started producing with the documentary Rozegare Ma Kami An So Tar, and then in 2009, he aired the program Shahre Khoda.[9]

In one of the programs of May 2014, one of the program's experts criticized the economic situation, and the producer of the program, Abdulmajid Rokni, was immediately fired for this criticism. As a sign of protest, Shariati announced in the live program that he will no longer be the host of Samte Khoda and said goodbye to the people. Farahzad, the expert of the program, also supported Shariati and said that if Shariati is not there, I and the other experts will not come to the program.[10][11] A week later, the program returned to its previous state and the host and guests returned to the program.[12]

In September 2014, Shariati went to the hospital with a group of artists to visit the Ali Khamenei Supreme leader of Iran, which brought positive and negative feedback.[13]
