A daughter's son was named after him and he won a legal dispute over some land but not finding much else about him. He and Coffee seem to have been stand ins for Jackson Swann (I think) feuding.

Nathaniel A. McNairy (1779 – 1851) was a prominent landowner in Tennessee. A portrait of him was painted by Washington B. Cooper in 1838.[1]
He was reported to have been in a duel with John R. Coffee.[2]
