needessentials was founded in 2013 by Australian surfer Ryan Scanlon who envisioned a brand that combined high-quality surfing equipment with a commitment to sustainability and affordability.[1] The company's initial focus was on creating premium wetsuits and surf accessories, and it has since expanded to include a range of technical and everyday apparel.
