Draft:New Year's Pomegranate

The New Year's pomegranate is a Greek New Year's custom. It originates from the Peloponnese but is also celebrated in other parts of Greece.

Everyone leaves their house holding a pomegranate in their right hand, enters their house and throws it down. Then the family takes the juicy pieces of the pomegranate and puts them in the New Year's salad.

The custom is observed in various regions of Greece, including Crete. [1]
