Nicole Crewe Nicole Crewe is a British actress, writer and director. Born in Harold Wood, England, and raised in the Czech Republic, she began performing as a teenager in the Czech television serial Ulice, and has since built a career across the United Kingdom and Asia. She is known for leading roles in vertical short-form drama, including Married to a Stranger (2024), Shoot Your Heart (2025) and Oops! I Accidentally Married the CEO! (2025). Her longer-form screen work includes the British thriller Cult Night, the Michelle Yeoh feature Mo Fang Xiao Jie, and the MediaCorp historical drama series Haranishi Zubaidah. She also writes her own short films, among them Salt (2025) and The Quiet Rebellion (2025). Early life Crewe was born in 1998 in Harold Wood, in the London Borough of Havering.[1] Her family moved to the Czech Republic shortly after her birth and she was raised there, developing an interest in the arts from an early age.[1] She holds British nationality and is entitled to work in both the United Kingdom and the European Union.[2] As a teenager she gained her first professional acting experience on the long-running Czech television serial Ulice.[1] Training Crewe studied at A-Casting Praha's Summer Acting School over five years, and later took a Hollywood acting course in Ho Chi Minh City.[1] She performed in theatre productions during her university studies.[3] She trains in mixed martial arts, in part to prepare for physical roles, and also rides horseback and skis.[1] Career Crewe works internationally and has been based between London, Kuala Lumpur and Guangzhou.[2] Vertical drama Crewe has appeared as a lead in a substantial body of vertical short-form drama — feature-length stories cut into two-minute episodes for mobile viewing — working with platforms including ReelShort and JoyReels.[1] In Married to a Stranger (2024) she played the lead, Lilian "Lily" Henderson, a woman leaving an abusive relationship who enters a arrangement of convenience with a man seeking a fiancée to present to his mother.[1] The same year she appeared in Ms. Substitute Marries Her Mr. Right as Gabriella Monroe, a woman coerced into an arranged marriage to fund her brother's medical treatment.[1] Shoot Your Heart, released in March 2025, cast her as Frances J. Jones, a single mother and reporter's assistant who poses as a celebrity's wife to secure a story.[4] Later that year she led the 66-episode Oops! I Accidentally Married the CEO! as Monica Lane, a jilted bride who impulsively marries a waiter who turns out to be a hotel chief executive investigating his own business.[1][5] She also played Sophie Jenkins in The Beauty & the Billionaire (2025), Tessa in ReelShort's The Secret Between Us, and Memi Vivian in Hidden Companionship.[1] A 2026 ReelShort Fandom profile described her as an actress whose on-screen softness belies a considerably more forceful working temperament.[1] Film and television Crewe plays Holly Hooper in Cult Night, a British mystery thriller directed by James Smith and co-written by Smith and Caroline Spence, in which an American student in London is drawn into a world of deceit and exploitation through her film-producer uncle.[6] She appears as a journalist in Mo Fang Xiao Jie (also known as Lady R), a Mandarin-language drama directed by Bai Xue for Media Asia Films.[7] The film stars Michelle Yeoh as an elderly woman who takes up competitive Rubik's Cube solving as a means of resisting age and prejudice, alongside Liu Haoran, and is due for release in 2026.[8] Crewe plays Emily Harrington in Haranishi Zubaidah, a ten-part historical drama for Singapore's MediaCorp Suria, directed by M. Mahfuz and produced by Greybeard Pictures.[9] Set in 1901, at the close of Japan's Meiji era, the series follows a young Japanese woman who travels to Singapore and is swept into a fate she never anticipated, and is based on the life of the director's own great-great-grandmother.[9] It was shot in Singapore, Malaysia and Saga Prefecture in Japan, with Malaysian filming taking place at historic locations in Selangor, and is scheduled to air in 2026 ahead of further distribution across Asia.[9][10] She has also been cast as Anna Jin in the television series Jiang shan wei pin, and hosted two 2025 episodes of the series Xordinaire.[11] Writing and directing Crewe writes, directs and produces her own short films, generally taking the lead role. The Quiet Rebellion, released in the United Kingdom in July 2025 through the production company Arcana88, was written and directed by Crewe, who also starred as Eliza Heathwood opposite Toni Marie.[12] She wrote, directed, produced and starred in Salt (2025) as Victoria Lancaster,[11] and holds the same combination of roles on the short Borrowed Skin, playing Elizabeth.[11] Filmography Film Year Title Role Notes 2025 Salt Victoria Lancaster Short; also director, writer, producer 2025 The Quiet Rebellion Eliza Heathwood Short; also director, writer 2025 Yours, Always Rose Short 2026 Mo Fang Xiao Jie Journalist Also known as Lady R; dir.
