- Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:ANYBIO) but presently it is not clear that it does. As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’. Please note that many of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable and should be removed (including blogs, company websites, Twitter, YouTube). Please note that some of the references are not formatted correctly (see Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor and Wikipedia’s Manual of Style for help). Additionally, the draft tends to read too much like a CV, which Wikipedia is not. The draft does not appear to show that the subject has any notability beyond the average coverage received by simlar businessmen (see WP:ROTM). Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link). Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject. You may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 01:27, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
Nolan Gallagher is an American sports executive. He is president and co-founder of Cleveland Pro Soccer, the ownership group of Cleveland's MLS NEXT Pro soccer team and prospective NWSL team..[1]
Education
editGallagher grew up on the west side of Cleveland. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School, earned his B.S. in marketing from Boston College, and his M.B.A. from USC Marshall School of Business.
Career
editGravitas Ventures
editGallagher founded Gravitas Ventures, an independent film global distribution company, in Los Angeles in 2006.
In 2019, Gravitas Ventures moved its headquarters to Cleveland to support the city’s impact on the entertainment industry[2][3][4].
Gallagher remained CEO of Gravitas Ventures throughout the company’s acquisitions in 2017[5][6] and 2021[7][8]. He stepped down as CEO in March 2023 to co-found and launch Cleveland Pro Soccer[9][10][11] with Michael Murphy.
Cleveland Professional Soccer
editGallagher and Murphy co-founded Cleveland Professional Soccer in 2022. Gallagher serves as president of the sports team ownership group[12].
In an interview with Front Office Sports, Gallagher said the idea of bringing professional outdoor soccer to Cleveland came up in 2021 when he and co-founder Michael Murphy recognized that Cleveland was the only top-20 market without professional outdoor soccer teams[13].
MLS NEXT Pro Team
editOn November 21, 2022, Cleveland Pro Soccer announced its new independent club would join the MLS NEXT Pro soccer league in 2025[14][15] and had plans to build a soccer stadium [16].
National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Team
editIn October 2023, Cleveland Pro Soccer announced the group was preparing to present a bid for the 16th NWSL expansion team[17].
In an interview with Cleveland Magazine, Gallagher said about the bid, "You want to be able to show that your community is going to support this team [...] We did something called the 'Back the Bid' campaign, and we just announced that we had 12,000 pledges for season tickets. That idea was suggested, to some extent, by an owner in Los Angeles who said [...] 'Go show that there’s actual demand for a women’s team in the marketplace.'"[18]
The team would be the first and only professional women's soccer team in the state of Ohio. As of April 2024, the prospective team had received 12,000 ticket pledges from fans.[19][20]
New stadium efforts
editIn an interview with Front Office Sports, Gallagher and Murphy said a stadium plan would be important for attracting an NWSL team to the city[21]. In February 2024, the Ohio House of Representatives earmarked funding for "Cleveland Women's Soccer Stadium"[22][23]. The stadium will seat 13,000 fans and cost more than $120 million[24]. In May 2024, Cleveland Pro Soccer released renderings for the stadium[25]
Awards & Recognition
editGallagher was named one of Variety's Hollywood New Leaders in 2011[26]. Throughout his career in entertainment, he spoke on a number of industry panels, including at the Toronto International Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival.
