Not Perfect Network

edit

Not Perfect Network (previously Not Perfect Companies) is an integrated creative, digital and design network with offices in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia founded in 2000 by Paulius Senuta.[1]

History

edit

Paulius Senuta was working at Latvian agency Garage 4x4 where he was running client service department and account planning practice and became a partner. He had an idea to move back to his native Lithuania by launching a sister agency there.

Garage 4x4 Vilnius launched on 1st of November 2000 as Young & Rubicam network affiliate and shortly secured Tele2 Lithuania as its first client.[2] Early days Garage 4x4 Vilnius focused on account planning and account management and Tele2 rapid growth brought a lot of interest to the agency while work for International Organisation for Migration brought early creative accolades.

Around 2004 Garage 4x4 Vilnius started reinventing itself by focusing on creativity and craft. Be Brave became an annual agency’s initiative to challenge its client to produce daring creative work.[3][4][5]

An early creative recognition came with Audi work that propelled the carmaker to no1 premium auto brand in Lithuania, while unusual and sophisticated work for SEB in financial sector solidified agency’s creative reputation and changed financial advertising landscape in Lithuania for years to come.

In April 2006, Paulius Senuta together with creatives Marius Lukosius and Aleksandrs Betins led the management buy-out and renamed the agency into Not Perfect (now Not Perfect Vilnius).[6]

In 2007 Not Perfect Vilnius was named Agency of The Year at national ADrenalinas advertising awards.[7] It will win this recognition three more time in 2010 on the back of the strength of Satta Outside festival advertising campaign[8][9], 2013[10][11], and 2015.

In 2007 Paulius Senuta led a group of experts in developing Brand Lithuania strategy code names “brave country”. The strategy was approved by Government of Lithuania in January 2008.[12][13]

In April 2008, Not Perfect Vilnius secured the advertising account for Svyturys brewery (then part of Baltic Beverages Holding, co-owned by the Carlsberg Group), initiating an extended collaboration with the Carlsberg Group that would span multiple geographies and encompass various brands. Carlsberg Group cooperation would make a key influence on the agency fostering competence development in packaging, digital and social media.

In August 2008 Paulius Senuta, Marius Lukosius and Aleksandrs Betins set up holding company Not Perfect Companies (later Not Perfect Network) as the base for the future expansion.

On 1st of January 2009, in the middle of financial crises, Not Perfect Network opened its second office Not Perfect Riga in Latvia and shortly secured Bite Latvia as its first client.

In July 2010, Not Perfect Vilnius rebranded and relaunched FlyLAL charters into Small Planet Airlines. Small Airlines Planet will become one of the fastest growing charter airlines in Europe and one of the most beloved brands in Lithuania until its bankruptcy in 2018.[14][15][16]

In January 2011, Not Perfect Riga secured Tele2 Latvia business to business advertising account, that over years would extend into all Tele2 brands and lines of business in Latvia and result into some of the most celebrated advertising in Latvia such as long-running Zi & Ze campaign for Zelta Zivtina brand.[17] Not Perfect Riga relationship with Tele2 will span for 12 years until late 2021.

In December 2013, Not Perfect Vilnius developed and launched Raudonu Plytu Alaus Dirbtuves (Red Brick Beer Workshop) for Svyturys Brewery (owned by Carlsberg Group). Raudonu Plytu Alaus Dirbtuves will become unquestionable craft beer leader in Lithuania.[18][19]

In 2013 Not Perfect Vilnius won Cannes Bronze Lion in outdoor for Vilnius Book Festival poster “The forehead”. It was the second Cannes Lion even won by Lithuanian agency.[20]

On 1st of January 2014, Not Perfect Network opened its third office Not Perfect Minsk in Belarus with Danone Belarus as its founding client.[21][22]

In 2014 Not Perfect Vilnius was named Best Agency in the Baltics and Best Agency in Lithuania in the very first Baltic Agency Ranking.[23] It will become Best Agency in the Baltics two more times in 2020[24] and 2022[25] and Best Agency in Lithuania four more times in 2019[26], 2020[24], 2021,[27] and 2022.[25]

In 2017 Not Perfect Riga was named Agency of The Year at national ADwards advertising awards.[28][29][30][31]

In June 2017 Not Perfect Vilnius secured Lidl Lithuania advertising account. During its 5-year tenure Lidl grew from fifth to third largest supermarket chain in Lithuania and the agency produced some of the most memorable and loved campaigns in Lithuania such as “This is not like Lidl”.[32][33][34]

On 1st of July 2019, Not Perfect Network partnered with Rivo Raim to open its fourth office Not Perfect Tallinn in Estonia with Tele2 Estonia as its founding client.[35][36]

In March 2020, Not Perfect Tallinn launched a long-running “Hold my Karl” campaign for Karl Friedrich brand from Saku Brewery (owned by Carlsberg Group).[37]

In February 2021, during unrest after the sham presidential elections in Belarus, Not Perfect Network shut its Not Perfect Minsk office and moved its core team to Not Perfect Vilnius.

Around 2022 Not Perfect Network started focusing on developing and delivering work for clients around the globe. It worked for clients in USA, South Africa, Netherlands, Sweden, and Finland.

In March 2022, reacting to Russia’s full-scale invasion into Russia, Not Perfect Vilnius together with 15 Min Group launched a counter-disinformation initiative Call Russia. The initiative has united volunteers from around the globe to cut through Putin’s information blockades and tell millions of Russians the truth and empower them to stand against the war. In just 4 weeks, Call Russia has been featured in 800+ top tier articles from CNN, BBC, CBS News, Reuters, Agence France-Presse, RTL News, and others, reaching an audience of 1.7+ billion and the volunteers, hailing from 132 countries, have made more than 130,000 calls, with 45% of the calls going through and 47% of those judged as successful.[38][39][40][41]

In June 2024, Not Perfect Network became Stagwell affiliate.[42]
