Submission declined on 24 June 2024 by SafariScribe (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Oğuz Alper Öktem (January 10, 1991 - Istanbul),[1] is a Turkish entrepreneur and the founder of Martı. Öktem is also known for his efforts to legalize the shared ride system he established to address the taxi problem in Istanbul.[2][3][4][5]
Life and career
editOğuz Alper Öktem was born on January 10, 1991, in Istanbul. In 2009, he graduated from the Vehbi Koç Foundation Koç High School, where he received a full scholarship. He then completed his undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Chicago in three years with honors. He also completed a master's program in political economy at the London School of Economics[6][7], where he served as the president of the LSE Turkish Society during his time there.[8]
Shortly after graduating, he worked at Deutsche Bank's London office. In 2014, upon his return to Istanbul, he started working as the Chief Operating Officer at BluTV[9]. Subsequently, he worked at McKinsey & Company and was among the investors of Kolektif House[10][11]. In November 2018, thinking that micro mobility would offer a very important transportation solution for Istanbul, he founded Martı Technologies with his sister, Sena Öktem.[4] The company's shares began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on July 13, 2023,[5] and Oğuz Alper Öktem rang the opening bell.[2][12] Öktem has been awarded "Entrepreneur of the Year" in many award programs,[13][14][15] after starting his journey with a scooter he brought to Turkey on the back of his car.[3]
