Draft:Obitchuary (Podcast)

Obitchuary is a podcast co-hosted by Spencer Henry and Madison Reyes. It was launched in 2021 and is distributed by the Morbid Network in partnership with Wondery..[1]

Obitchuary releases weekly episodes, covering topics like decomposition, historical funeral practices, and death rituals worldwide. Despite its somber themes, the podcast maintains a light-hearted tone and features a recurring "dumb criminals" segment with humorous legal mishaps. Henry also hosts the true-crime podcast Cult Liter, which launched in 2018. With a background in content management at L'Oréal, he explores cults, crime, and macabre topics. Reyes holds a degree in Radio, TV, and Film from California State University, Fullerton, and has a background as a professional makeup artist[2].

In August 2024, Henry and Reyes authored Obitchuary: The Big Hot Book of Death [3], a book that mirrors the tone and content of the podcast. The book, published by Plume (an imprint of Penguin Random House), covers themes such as deathbed confessions, funeral practices, and macabre history. It debuted at #11 on the September 8th, 2024 New York Times Best Seller list for non-fiction[4]
